How do I install the Chartbook once I’ve got it?

Download the .CHT File attached to the email you received.  Place the .CHT File in Sierra Charts Data Folder. OS:C:/SierraChart > Data.  Then, in Sierra Chart, select File > Open Chartbook and select the new chart title from the menu.  If the chart does not populate, you will need to add your data providers symbol by going to the menu Chart > Chart Settings > Main Settings tab 1 > Symbol Find.

I’ve loaded the chart, but I dont see any price bars.

The current price of the instrument is likely very different than when these chartbooks were created. Our charts scales are set to “User Scale” and unique to each individual traded instrument.  This is done as a hack, to force Sierra into keeping the chart still, as other settings want to either lock the chart too tightly or it moves on every tick.  To make changes, Right Click on the Price Scale, select Scale Settings and enter rough values under User Defined Top/Bottom Range (the exact numbers are not important).  This is the best method to keeping the chart where you want it.  Once you have the chart where you want it, you wont have to do this exercise again, simply left-click and drag the price column up or down to suit. 

I’ve loaded the chart, but I dont see the Heatmap on the chart to show the resting orders?

It likely wont in the first few seconds. The book depth is recorded from live data to your PC, therefore the chart (or a full feature DOM) needs to be running to record the data. Also note, if you install the chart over a weekend you will not see anything as the market is closed and the data feeds are dormant.

I bought 1 chartbook but now I want the Full Suite, will you comp me for the one I originally bought?

Of course, its only fair.

If the chartbook I purchase gets a revision, will I have to re-purchase the revision?

No.  Minor revisions are sent automatically to the email address used in the original purchase.  Although, major revisions that we determine to be an entirely new chartbook are not included in this (which is rare).

Can I commission you to build me a custom chart?

We tend to say No in one-off retail applications, as this is an inefficient use of our resources. 

We do have relationships with commercial firms for which we provide tech /charting support.  In this case, please contact us for information if we may be of service.

I love the charts, do you offer an Order Flow Educational Course?

Short answer, No.

Mid answer, a good study of what I share on twitter should be enough.  I explain things in a joking manner but you’ll get it.

Long answer, there is a course built which has not been released.  I have repeatedly tested the waters with dozens of potential students and all have failed to show even minimal effort.  Moving forward there may be some kind of interview process to apply for training / mentorship, but currently it is simply not worth my time and energy…….and I really question anyone who does have the time and energy.

Do Order Flow Charts work for the Micro eMini Futures?

Yes, in regards to filled Bid/Ask Quantities the information is good (such as on a Footprint).  However, the Resting Orders further out from the best price (such as on a Heatmap) are not useful and are often not even remotely resembling the standard Mini Contracts.  The Micro Contracts have a Collar around the best price as a circuit breaker and this skews the data.

In short, the micro contract is a derivative of a derivative and it is better to view the source of the data….the mini contract.

*Use the “Trade and Current Quote Symbol” function to trade the Micro while viewing the Mini.

Do you offer Free Trial Charts that I can use with the Free Trial of Sierra Chart?

No, and Sierra’s free trial does not include Package 5 or 11 so you would not have access to Bid/Ask related studies.  You will need to purchase the charts and Sierra plus data.  Furthermore, the learning curve of Sierra tends to be longer than the free trial…..although worth the effort.

How do I pay with Crypto?

Please contact us with a notification of what currency you’ll be using and we’ll respond with a corresponding address.  Crypto payments will get a discount based upon how much we like you.  We are judgemental.

Do you have plans to offer charts in NinjaTrader or Motivewave / etc?

No, never.  I will never endorse anything that I do not believe in.  I have tested many trading platforms and my response to the bulk of them is that I would never risk my capital with them and I will never sacrifice my name to endorse anything I do not personally use and trust.  I will never endorse anything Web Based / Mac Based / or a Trading Platform that is run by salesman.  I deal with Software Engineers and Programmers only.
